Dr. Amy Collins
Conservationist | Wildlife Biologist
Welcome to my website!
I am interested in understanding the ecological and social impacts of anthropogenic disturbances, and the efficacy of conservation measures developed to combat these stressors. I am currently a Lead Scientist at Conservation Science Partners, Inc. I am based in the Tortoise Lab, where we are investigating the present and future threats to desert tortoises within the western US. Originally from the UK, I moved out to California in 2015 to complete my PhD at UC Davis in the Van Vuren lab. Prior to this, I completed my MSc at Imperial College, London, and my BSc at the University of Leeds. I have worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Colorado State University, a Research Scientist at the Zoological Society of London and a Zoology Consultant for a Discovery Channel TV series. Check out my research word tree below and specific projects I am working on under research. |
