Dr. Amy Collins
Conservationist | Wildlife Biologist
Welcome to my website!
I am interested in understanding the ecological and social impacts of anthropogenic disturbances, and the efficacy of conservation measures developed to combat these stressors. I am currently a Forest Spatial Science Director at The Nature Conservancy, North America region office. I am based in the Mature Old Growth Forest Science Team, where we are investigating the present and future threats and management implications of mature and old growth forests in collaboration with the US Forest Service. Originally from the UK, I moved out to California in 2015 to complete my PhD at UC Davis in the Van Vuren lab. Prior to this, I completed my MSc at Imperial College, London, and my BSc at the University of Leeds. I have worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Colorado State University, a Research Scientist at the Zoological Society of London and a Zoology Consultant for a Discovery Channel TV series. Check out my research word tree below and specific projects I am working on under research. |
