Dr. Amy Collins

Conservationist | Wildlife Biologist | Urban Ecologist

Welcome to my website!

I am interested in understanding the ecological and social impacts of anthropogenic disturbances, and the efficacy of conservation measures developed to combat these stressors. I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in Kyle Horton's AeroEco lab at Colorado State University. Working on a NASA Biodiversity grant, I am investigating the impacts of artificial lights and urban centers on nighttime bird migration.

Originally from the UK, I moved out to California in 2015 to complete my PhD at UC Davis in the Van Vuren lab. Prior to this, I completed my MSc at Imperial College, London, and my BSc at the University of Leeds. I have worked as a Research Scientist at the Zoological Society of London and a Zoology Consultant for a Discovery Channel TV series.

Check out my research word tree below and specific projects I am working on under research.
